I Need A Reset Button In My Head!

Did you even notice that when sour thoughts come, it ends up snowballing to the point where you just want to hit the 'reset' button? Yesterday was one of those days. It started with a small little issue and went completely south after that! I couldn't WAIT to go to bed last night after a day of being so mad that I was shaking and so sad that I cried! Yep, I needed a reset button!

Integrity is an important part of my life. I work really hard to teach Carly that integrity and truth are pretty much all we really have. I don't profess to be perfect but I do try to always do the right thing.

It amazes me that I get so upset that others don't see it the way I do! These people have burned me (us) before, have let us down, chewed us up and spit us out and yet I am STILL so amazed that they just keep on doing it! Can you say 'punching bag'? Oy. Yeah, we in the process of changing that...for sure!

Now here's the irony. I am reading Wayne Dyer's book 'Change Your Thoughts, Change Your Life'. What a riot! This is Wayne's interpretation of the Tao Te Ching. Wonderful thoughts on how to obtain peace, balance and joy in your life! HA! Even more ironic considering the day I had yesterday!

I am going to read each verse and allow it to soak into my mind.

Below is the first verse...the last line TOTALLY speaks to me today. "And the mystery itself is the doorway to all understanding."

The Tao that can be told
is not the eternal Tao
The name that can be named
is not the eternal name.

The Tao is both named and nameless.
As nameless it is the origin of all thing;
as named it is the Mother of 10,000 things.

Ever desireless, one can see the mystery;

Yes Woman, No Woman...That's Me!

Oh forget it! You know, you just CANNOT be a yes person with a 12 year old child! All weekend it was "Can I have an ice cream?", "Can I not do my homework?", "Can we watch Julie & Julia again?"

And Keith...oh man, I forgot about all the stuff that I would have to say "yes" to with him...no, get your mind out of the gutter! I just meant him things like going grocery shopping with me. Why is it, that when he goes grocery shopping with me, we end up spending double than when I do it by myself?

Well, I decided to cut that little experiment short...and now I'm back to my "No" personality! Ha! Good lesson learned, though. Keep an open mind, you never know what that "Yes." answer could lead to! I had fun shopping with Keith...and watching TV with Carly.

I Am The Yes Lady! {{what have I done?}}

You know, I hate the news. There is NEVER anything happy about it! I hate it so much that I thought to myself today "What would it be like to be completely positive for just one day." Sounds easy, right! Ha! Not so sure about that.

Has anyone seen that movie, Yes, Man? OK, so it's Jim Carey doing what Jim Carey does best, being stupid, BUT the idea of it is so cool! Can you imagine saying YES to everything when you are asked? He ended up with his LIFE. Fear was a thing of the past and he had so much fun!

So, I talked myself into it, I am committing to saying yes as much as I can this weekend...yikes! That's frightening. Wish me luck! {{Don't tell Keith or Carly...that could end bad.}}

If I don't write for a few days, you'll know that I ended up on a plane to Haiti or Chili or in jail or something! Ha!

Can Your Dog Save Your Marriage?

Have you ever noticed that when you come home from work, no matter what mood you are in, what happened that day or what time it is, that the dogs are always just so happy to see you!

Maybe they just need to pee...but they are still just so happy...always!

Can you imagine how many marriages could be saved just by acting like that when your significant other walks in the door. If we could jump up and down, spin around in circles, yelp and wag our tails when they come home, wouldn't THAT create a new vibe in the household!

Over the years I learned that I have the ability to create the vibe in our house. Some days, I'm tired and just don't feel like dealing with anyone else's issues of the day...yeah, those nights go REAL well, I can assure you. But on the nights when I can just be, get out of myself and not think too much about whatever is going on in my mind, the mood is so much lighter!
